Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) is a common disorder that affects more than four million people in the UK. Symptoms vary between individuals and can have significant impact on day-to-day life. Typical symptoms include abdominal pains, bloating, wind and altered bowel habits with diarrhoea, constipation or both.

We concentrate on the treatment of IBS through diet therapy as recommended by National Institute of Clinical Excellence (NICE) and the British Dietetic Association. We provide individual tailored lifestyle and dietary advice to help manage your symptoms, including the low FODMAP diet.

The low FODMAP diet is a complex programme that requires guidance and supervision from a trained specialist dietitian who has attended the Kings College London low FODMAP professional course, which we attended in 2011.

You will need at least two appointments for this intervention; to discuss first line dietary and lifestyle advice, to assess suitability for the low FODMAP diet therapy, for education on the low FODMAPs diet and the reintroduction process. We also provide the comprehensive Kings College London booklets.
